Marques de Casa Concha Chardonnay
Light yellow in color. Combining richness with elegance and vibrancy this ripe, delicious wine serves up tasty white pear, mineral notes and toasty hazelnut. Deeply concentrated with a silky texture and layers of pears and ripe figs and mineral flavors with a long and vibrant finish.
VINEYARD OF ORIGIN: Quebrada Seca Vineyard, D.O. Limarí, Limarí Valley
VINEYARD DESCRIPTION: The Quebrada Seca Vineyard is 190 m a.s.l. and just 19 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean on the north bank of the Limarí River. The clay soils are rich in calcium carbonate. Cold and cloudy mornings allow the fruit to ripen slowly and produce refreshing wines. The vines are Chardonnay 95, 76, and 548, and Mendoza clones and trellised to vertical shoot position.
SOIL: The first layer is clay, followed by alluvial soils composed of a large amount of calcium carbonate.
CLIMATE: Cool; strongly influenced by the Pacific Ocean.
AGING: 12 months in French oak barrels.
AGING POTENTIAL: Drink now or cellar through 2022.
